The Biz Loves Dilla

This past week we got offered to carry a tee we couldn’t pass up. We usually don’t go after gimmicky type tees but this one was different. Jay Dee aka J. Dilla was a genius, one-of-a-kind artist. He worked with artist like Common, A Tribe Called Quest, Janet Jackson and local artist’s like MED and Madlib. His drums, patterns and sounds, to this day, are untouchable. Unfortunately, he passed away at an early age but his legacy still continues to this day with artist’s still sampling his work and feeding off the energy he captured in his beats. Here’s a little video I found telling a little about his life but make sure to check him out for your selves !!!

Here are some locally printed tees paying homage to one of Hip-Hop’s greatest, known yet unknown producer’s Jay Dilla. We featured the white and navy ones but these are also available in Red and Black. They are also printed in limited quantities so if we don’t have your size when you come in we can easily have them special ordered so make sure to come by soon !

Meet Your Kwoda

Since day one we have always supported anything local. Whether it be hip-hop artists, graff artists, clothing brands or even just the local riders and pushers.

This week I’m highlighting one of Oxnard’s brightest emerging stars, Kwoda. This dude is one of the hardest working guys in the industry I know. Not only does  he spit, but he produces and engineers tracks too, and not just for himself, but for anyone making moves locally. His whole philosophy has been to stay true to his roots here in Oxnard, but at the same time try to make a name for himself and Ox on a bigger stage to reach as many people as possible. He’s well on his way and we wish him the best luck possible.

He currently just started a California tour starting down in San Diego and is working his way back up this week and next. He stays mad humble and because real recognize real next Friday the 15th we’ll be having a little show in store for his Chamber Tour Show!

We’ll have more details tomorrow about the show and tour but for now here’s some music from Kwoda so please enjoy and make sure to always support locally like he does! Biz Life…
